From our garden to their plate

We grow some of our own produce. Children plant, nurture and harvest vegetables, learning where food comes from, and our chef cooks this home-grown produce into their meals wherever possible.

Dining together

Mealtimes are relaxed and social. Children serve themselves, make choices and chat with friends. Got a favourite healthy family recipe? We'd love to add it to our menu!

EYFS nutrition guidance

Following the national guidance

Our menus follow the Department for Education's Early Years Foundation Stage nutrition guidance. Here are the key points in a nutshell.

A healthy plate

Meals balance the 4 food groups: fruit & veg, starchy foods, proteins and dairy.

Water & milk only

Fresh drinking water is always available. Plain milk or water are the only drinks offered.

Low sugar & salt

No added salt, limited sugar and no sweets or sugary drinks, protecting little teeth.

Safe weaning

Babies move gradually from smooth to lumpy to finger foods, at their own pace.

Allergies & choking

Allergens are carefully managed and foods are prepared safely to reduce choking risks. All staff are trained to deal with allergies, intolerances and first aid.

Planned menus

Varied weekly menus with the right portion sizes, shared with parents in advance.
