Muddy Boots Day Nursery
Our Curriculum

We grow confident, capable and curious learners.

Children learn best when they feel safe and happy: through play, real experiences and at their own pace, following the EYFS.

Collaboration

I work together and respect others.

Creativity

I imagine, explore and create.

Critical Thinking

I ask questions, solve problems and make choices.

Community

I care for others and the world around me.

Celebrating every achievement

Big or small, every step counts. Putting on their own wellies, pouring a drink, sharing a toy or trying a new word, we celebrate it all. Day by day, we cheer on each child's growing independence and confidence.

Enabling independence

We interact; we don't interfere.

We model, prompt and offer choices, but we don't do the thinking or doing when a child is ready to try. Support is gently reduced as confidence grows.

I can tryI can have a goI can do it!

Independence looks different for every child, from putting on a coat to making a choice or asking for help.

One curriculum, every child

SEND support

  • We 'scaffold up' to the same ambitious curriculum, never a watered-down version
  • Early identification of children who need extra help
  • Our Lead SENCO, room leader and parents plan support together
  • Progress is personal: for one child, baking bread; for another, tolerating the feel of flour

English as an Additional Language

  • Many of our children are multilingual, and we celebrate every language and culture
  • We value and support children's home languages
  • Rich vocabulary, songs, rhymes and wordless books build confidence in English as well as their home language
  • Language tracking makes sure every child is progressing
